Philly-Area’s Box of Rain Names GGF Beneficiary of Thanksgiving Eve Double-Header

The Grateful Guitars Foundation is proud to announce that it has been named the beneficiary of an evening of dual delights on November 25, 2026 at the Sellersville Theater when celebrated regional mainstay, Box of Rain, perform Workingman’s Dead and American Beauty back to back.

Few bands have ever released two albums in the same year as beloved or as influential as Workingman’s Dead and American Beauty. Arriving just five months apart in 1970, they marked a shift for the Grateful Dead by adding in a new Americana direction and hearing them back-to-back takes us on a transformation journey through this era of traditional songwriting that left us with undeniable classics.

Box of Rain band pays tribute to this era of the Dead, focusing exclusively on 1968-1974 with their all-star lineup of former members of Living Earth, Boris Garcia, Half Step and more who channel the Pig Pen era with visceral improvisation and faithful performances.

This evening represents a meaningful alignment between the mission of the music and the mission of GGF, and a portion of every ticket sold will benefit GGF.Our host for the evening, Sellersville Theater, is a historic 1894 room lends a warmth and intimacy to this pre-holiday family gathering.
