Homage Nation: A Texas-Sized Grateful Dead Tribute Benefiting Grateful Guitars Foundation

On May 25, 2025, The Kessler Theater in Dallas will host Homage Nation, a one-night-only celebration of the Grateful Dead’s legendary music featuring an all-star lineup of Texas musicians. This special evening will take audiences on a journey through the Dead’s iconic eras, each decade a different set performed by carefully curated ensembles.

This event is more than just a concert—it’s a community gathering and a chance to give back. This year, Homage Nation proudly benefits the Grateful Guitars Foundation (GGF), an organization dedicated to providing world-class instruments to professional musicians who carry on the Grateful Dead’s musical tradition. In honor of this, during the event, GGF will also present a $5,000 donation to Swan Strings, a Dallas-based non-profit that provides free music education, community concerts, and sound therapy services to North Texas individuals without access. Founded in 2019 by Jess Garland, Swan Strings has provided approximately 1,000 hours of free music education, serving 400 children and 50 adults.

The night’s lineup includes an impressive roster of talent from the Dallas music scene, including Scott Johnson, Hunter Hendrickson, Kenny Withrow, John Bush, Patrice Pike, Chris Holt, Michael Richardson, Jerry Saracini, Bob McConville, Reggie Rueffer, Texas Slim, Ryan Thomas Becker, Grady Don Sandlin, Dylan McQuaid, and more special guests to be announced. Fans can expect inspired interpretations of Grateful Dead classics and surprise collaborations during this deep dive into the band’s legendary catalog.

Additionally, representatives of GGF, and Dallas-based luthier Leo Elliott of Scarlet Fire Guitars will be in attendance, sharing insights about GGF’s mission and the intricacies of the instruments that help keep this music alive.

Dallas has a thriving Grateful Dead community, and Homage Nation is the perfect opportunity for Deadheads and music lovers alike to come together, celebrate, and make a difference. Join us for an unforgettable night of music, connection, and philanthropy.
