Grateful Guitars Foundation is proud to share “Crescent (owing to the crescent-shaped horns),” a gift from the Foundation to guitarist Josh Rosen.

Josh Rosen of the band Shakedown Street says, “The band happily finds itself in the trusted role of connecting past, present and future Grateful Dead fans with the vital and vibrant energies of improvisational live music.”

Luthier Bob Fishman adds, “The body is an 11-piece “hippie sandwich” that is chambered and made with curly Western Big Leaf Maple, Mahogany and Bocote.  The top and back are both hand carved.  The lotus flower inlay on the back is made with white mother of pearl and abalone. The guitar has 3 DiMarzio Super IIs which can be split between humbucker and single coil mode, an onboard effects loop and buffer.

The neck is made with curly Western Big Leaf Maple, Padauk and Ebony. In a nod to Doug Irwin, the first fret inlay is borrowed from Tiger. Josh’s signature is inlaid on the 24th fret. The fingerboard and peg head are bound in brass.”
