Circle Songs & Sands of Time: A Tribute to the Music of Bobby Weir Supporting GGF and Music Heals International

On February 26, the Fox Theatre in Redwood City filled with family for a special edition of Grateful Thursdays w/ Alex Jordan & Friends “Circle Songs & Sands of Time: A Tribute to the Music of Bobby Weir” honoring the songs and spirit of Weir/Wasserman, RatDog, Further, and the Grateful Dead.
The night opened with an informative and entertaining “Fireside Chat” with photographer Jay Blakesberg offering stories and photographic context to the various guitars in Bobby’s arsenal – replicas and originals on-hand for play across the three expansive sets courtesy of GGF founder Andy Logan.
This all-star lineup including Stu Allen, Mark Karan, Dave Ellis and many more lending their talent ensuring the music spanned the poignant and beautiful spectrum of Bobby work over the decades, and in his honor, GGF surprised our friend Nate LaPointe with his very own Bob Weir Signature Alvarez acoustic guitar.
Most importantly, the night carried the purpose of raising funds to support the work of the Grateful Guitars Foundation as well as Music Heals International, extending the impact of the evening to a global scale of music education efforts.
Thank you to every musician, crew member, and fan of the music who filled the theatre with incredible energy in the spirit of remembrance, gratitude, and paying it forward to generations to come.
